MealPro is a product developed and operated by Inventlix Digital Labs (OPC) Private Limited, a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013, with its registered office in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India.

References to "we", "us", "our" or "MealPro" in this policy refer to Inventlix Digital Labs (OPC) Private Limited.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Account information: name, email address, password (encrypted), and profile photo (optional).
• Health & nutrition data: height, weight, age, dietary preferences, calorie goals, meal logs, water intake, and macro targets you manually enter.
• Payment information: processed securely by our payment partner (Stripe / Razorpay). We do not store your full card details.
• User content: recipes you create, meal plans you save, grocery lists, and inventory items.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device & usage data: device type, operating system, browser version, IP address, and pages visited.
• App analytics: features you use, session duration, crash reports, and performance data.
• Cookies & similar technologies: used to keep you logged in, remember preferences, and improve performance. See Section 8 for details.

2.3 AI Features (Coming Soon)

When our AI calorie-tracking features launch, photos you submit for calorie analysis will be processed by our AI model, temporarily stored for analysis, and then deleted within 24 hours. We will never use your food photos for advertising.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain and improve the MealPro service across web, iOS and Android platforms.
• To personalize your meal plans, nutrition insights, and recommendations.
• To process purchases of premium meal plans and recipes.
• To send you service notifications, updates, and (with your consent) marketing emails.
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
• To comply with applicable Indian laws and regulations, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA).

4. Legal Basis for Processing (DPDPA & GDPR)

We process your personal data on the following grounds:

• Consent: for marketing communications and optional health data sharing.
• Contract performance: to deliver the services you have signed up for.
• Legitimate interests: for security, fraud prevention, and service improvement.
• Legal obligation: to comply with applicable laws and regulations.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

• Service providers: cloud hosting (AWS / Google Cloud), analytics (Firebase), payment processors, and email delivery services — under strict data processing agreements.
• AI processing partners: for the upcoming AI calorie analysis feature, under confidentiality agreements.
• Legal authorities: when required by Indian law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.
• Business transfers: in the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred. We will notify you in advance.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.

7. Your Rights

Under the DPDPA and applicable regulations, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erase your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Withdraw consent at any time for consent-based processing.
• Nominate a person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity (DPDPA requirement).
• Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India.

8. Cookies

Our website and app use the following types of cookies:

• Essential cookies: required for login and basic functionality. Cannot be disabled.
• Analytics cookies: help us understand how users interact with MealPro (Google Analytics, Firebase). You may opt out.
• Preference cookies: remember your settings and language preferences.

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings or our in-app cookie settings panel.

9. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• AES-256 encryption for data at rest.
• TLS 1.3 encryption for all data in transit.
• Regular security audits and penetration testing.
• Strict access controls — only authorised personnel can access your data.

Despite these measures, no internet transmission is 100% secure. Please use a strong, unique password for your MealPro account.

10. Children's Privacy

MealPro is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us immediately at privacy@mealpro.app.

11. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located outside India (e.g. AWS US East, Google Cloud). We ensure such transfers comply with DPDPA requirements and use appropriate contractual safeguards.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or in-app notification at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
